Guidelines for Attendees

  • On the day of the event, there may be not only members of the furry and fursuiter fandoms but also general hotel guests and visitors. Please be respectful and avoid causing discomfort to others.

General Attendee Guidelines

  • Many of the fursuits at FUR:RAID are beloved, unique characters. When interacting with fursuiters, please be gentle and considerate.
  • Some fursuiters may not wish to be touched or photographed. Always ask for permission before physical contact (such as hugs) or taking photos. If they decline, do not insist.
  • Please read not only the general policies and precautions but also the guidelines for fursuiters.

Fursuiter Guidelines

  • All changing rooms at FUR:RAID are shared spaces. Please observe etiquette and avoid bringing excessive luggage.
  • Always use the designated changing rooms within the venue to change into your fursuit. Changing in hotel restrooms or outside the hotel is prohibited.
  • You must wear your badge visibly, even when in fursuit, to access the changing room.
  • Each person is allocated about half of a long table in the changing room, which may be shared. If you leave your belongings unattended for an extended period, staff may move or organize them.
  • You may be asked to refrain from wearing sexually explicit or otherwise inappropriate outfits, especially since minors may be present.
  • Take care of your health and do not overexert yourself while fursuiting. Take breaks and remove your head or suit if needed.
  • If you are wearing a fursuit for the first time, always have a handler with you and avoid wearing it for long periods.
  • Do not sleep on the floor or engage in behaviors that could be mistaken for a medical emergency while in fursuit. If staff believe a fursuiter is in danger (e.g., disoriented or unresponsive), they may remove the suit for safety, even if this causes damage.
  • Before attending, plan how you will communicate while in fursuit (with a handler, directly, using body language, placards, etc.).
  • If you experience issues such as assault, harassment, or property damage while in fursuit, contact staff immediately.
  • Remember that being in fursuit is a “special state,” and always prioritize your safety.
